2GR-FE Manual Trans ECU
These ECUs are based on the 2011+ Toyota Sienna ECUs but have modified hardware and firmware to make them appropriate for Manual transmission swap applications.
List of modifications:
Manual Transmission conversion
- PRNDL input fixed to Drive, no need to supply 12V to the "D" input anymore
- Cruise control adjusted to work with a manual transmission, this includes the clutch pedal switch input to cancel on the clutch being pressed.
- Inverted brake signal (ST−) requirement removed
- Torque converter related loading on decel and idle removed
Idle
- Base idle raised 650 → 750 RPM
- A/C idle-up target ~820 RPM
- A/C idle-up moved from CAN to a physical wire, reusing the "R" input from the PRNDL that is no longer used.
- Removed expected torque converter inertia from idle control and retune controls for a lighter flywheel
- Quick idle learn on fresh battery reset
- Cold idle drops much quicker as car warms
- Warm idle drops to idle within a few seconds of startup.
Throttle & drivability
- Rev hang delete.
- Pedal map recalibrated to make a light car more driveable with this power level.
- Throttle cap at low RPM, this does not limit horsepower output but it prevents resonance in some circumstances that caused overfueling and a sluggish tip-in.
- Brake override disabled, allowing simultaneous brake and throttle.
- vvt-i tip-in adjusted to make low throttle engagement smoother.
Performance
- Rev limiter 7400RPM (7600 / 7800 / 8000 or other custom values available)
- Speed limiter deleted
- Ignition map recalibrated
- Faster MAF response to transition better through the area where the motor really comes alive.
- Pops & bangs on decel — ~1.35 s window where cut conditions are recognized but fuel keeps flowing.
- VVT-i tables matched to the selected camshafts — stock / FMW street / 263-A.
- MAF curve calibrated to the swap intake pipe — 3.5" default, 3.0" also available.
Fueling architecture
- 3 bar or 4 bar brown as well as 4 bar teal injectors supported.
- ECU now stays in closed loop mode down to about 13.2 AFR to fuel more accurately. Previously would go open loop whenever richer than stoichiometric.
- Long term fuel trim subsystem completely revamped to be much more accurate over a wider range. This helps compensate for swap to swap differences better.
- Long term fuel trim clamps when in open loop widened from +5% to +8%. Max lean out left at -5% for safety.
Diagnostics
- Extended wideband AFR reporting over OBD-II, no longer clips the max rich at 12.0:1, now allows down to about 11.1:1 to see the actual sensor values when the system goes richer.
Special for FMW 350whp camshaft selection:
Rev limiter raised to 7800RPM. (adjustable per request)
4 bar fuel pressure required

This ECU does not modify any emissions operation, All the monitors are as they would be in a 2011 Sienna. This is not usable in stock Sienna applications. Because of the automatic transmission disabling it will not work on those vehicles.
